Thursday Thoughts – A Heart of Thankfulness
Today’s Thursday Thoughts are going to be a little different, because today is our Thanksgiving holiday in the USA. On this day, I simply want to say thank you—to all of you who have prayed for, supported, encouraged, and walked beside ICUMissions.org and myself over these past several years, both around the world and across the street.
As Psalm 9:1 says: “I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.” Today, I thank the Lord with my whole heart for you—because YOU are part of those wonderful deeds. Your prayers, your messages, your support, and your love have been instruments of God’s work in places most will never see—but God sees all.
Our focus today—before the turkey and football and family noise—should be on the blessings God has given us. Our families—whether by blood or by the blood of Christ—are gifts from Him. I am thankful today for each and every one of you who has stood with me, encouraged me, and been part of this mission.
As we move into the Advent and Christmas season, I humbly ask that you pray for our upcoming mission to Pakistan. Please pray for our safety, for open doors, and for divine appointments—that God will place us where His Word needs to be heard most.
Jesus commands us in Matthew 28:19–20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We go because He said go.
We serve because He served.
We love because He first loved us.
Tuesday, December 2nd is Giving Tuesday, a day when believers all around the nation support missions and kingdom work. If God leads you, I would be honored for you to be a part of our mission with a small monthly gift. Even $10 a month—less than the cost of one fast-food meal—makes a real difference.
God took this mission from absolutely nothing but a calling—and by His hand we are now planning and executing multiple trips each year. We cannot do this alone. We do it with God—and with those who stand behind us in prayer and support.
So today—while we give thanks for family and food and warmth and safety—let us also give thanks for the privilege of serving Jesus, and let us pray that His gospel continues to reach the nations.
With gratitude and honor in my heart,
Happy Thanksgiving.
May God bless you and keep you.
In Christ name.
