Just the beginning
The Journey of ICU Missions
In 2020, everything changed. Justin Edwards, having recommitted his life to Christ, felt a stirring deep within his heart—a call to go where few were willing to go. That call was missions, not only in the familiar but across oceans and cultures, to the very edges of the 10/40 window.
The first steps were small, yet full of faith. In 2021, Justin traveled to Tanzania, laying the foundation for what would become a recurring mission across East Africa. Year after year, the Lord opened doors: Tanzania again in 2022, then Uganda in 2023, each trip strengthening local believers and meeting both spiritual and physical needs. These weren’t just trips—they were seeds of a bigger vision.
By 2024, ICU Missions had expanded into new territory. Pakistan became a reality, not just a dream. There, Justin and his team helped organize the first government-sanctioned Christian crusade in Islamabad, drawing thousands who came hungry for hope. Later, in the mountains of northern Pakistan, they ministered to villages, women, and children in places where the name of Christ had rarely been spoken openly. These moments confirmed the mission’s purpose: to bring intensive care for the soul where it was needed most.
Alongside these journeys, ICU Missions was being shaped into more than a passion—it was becoming an organization. Articles of Incorporation were drafted, bylaws written, and leadership named. In 2025, ICU Missions officially became a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Alabama, with the process for IRS recognition underway. The mission now had a home, a legal foundation, and a future.
What started as one man’s step of obedience had grown into a ministry with a name, a structure, and a vision: to strengthen local pastors, partner with believers, support women and children, and bring the Gospel to some of the hardest places in the world. ICU Missions had become more than a story of trips overseas—it had become a movement.
And this was just the beginning.
